Arena salutes its champions

From December 12-15 in the Jutland Peninsula town of Herning, Arena swimmers brought the year to a rousing close, winning a total of 28 gold medals out of a possible 40 at the 2013 European SC Championships. Overall, 75 of 122 medal winners wore Arena suits, a remarkable return of 61%.

Notable among the Elite Team winners were:

- Vladimir Morozov (Russia) – seven golds out of seven events (50 & 100 freestyle, 100 IM, and all 4 of the men’s and mixed relays, including new world records in the two mixed relays)
- Sarah Sjöström (Sweden) – two golds (50 & 100 fly, breaking the championship record in the 50), three silvers (50 & 100 free, 4x50 women’s free relay) and a bronze (4x50 women’s medley relay)
- Rûta Meilutytë (Lithuania) – two golds (100 IM & 100 breast, breaking the championship record in both) and a silver (50 breast)
- Jérémy Stravius (France) – two golds (50 & 100 back) and a silver (100 fly)
- Ranomi Kromowidjojo (Netherlands) – two golds (50 & 100 free) and a bronze (4x50 mixed free relay)
- Daniel Gyurta (Hungary) – two golds (100 & 200 breast)
- Katinka Hosszù (Hungary) – one gold (200 IM, breaking the championship record), two silvers (100 & 400 IM) and a bronze (200 back)
- Rados³aw Kawêcki (Poland) – one gold (200 back)
- Yevgeny Korotyshkin (Russia) – one gold (100 fly)
- Sergei Fesikov (Russia) – two golds (4x50 men’s & mixed free relays) and a silver (100 IM)
- Lotte Friis (Denmark) – two silvers (400 & 800 free)
- Marco Koch (Germany) – one silver (100 breast) and a bronze (200 breast)

Arena congratulates these champions, along with all others that donned three diamond suits in their quest for the podium.
