Michele Marin is appointed CFO of the Arena Group
Global waterwear brand Arena has appointed Michele Marin as the Group’s new CFO.
The 42-year-old Padua native earned his Business Economics degree from the Ca'Foscari University of Venice, and began his career at global auditing giant PriceWaterhouseCoopers. In 1998 he joined Emerson Network Power, world leader in the production and distribution of air conditioners for technology environments and business continuity groups, which is part of U.S. giant Emerson Electric (NYSE: EMR). At Emerson Michele Marin filled several roles, including Consolidation & Reporting Manager and Group Controller, before attaining the post of Head of Administration, Finance and Control in 2003.
In 2005 he joined I.NET SpA (MTAX STAR), a subsidiary of British Telecom, as Director of Administration, Finance, and Investor Relations, following the company’s restructuring, growth and business relaunch – and consequent recovery of its share value – up to its final delisting and merger with BT Italy in 2008.
After brief periods with Arcese Mercurio (Parma) and Global Wood Holding (Geneva), in 2009 Michele Marin became Chief Financial Officer & Board Member of the Bluholding Group, undisputed Italian leader in the distribution of tourist packages (including the Bluvacanze and Vivere&Viaggiare/Living&Travelling brands), Business Travel (Cisalpine Tours), and Tour Operations (Going). In this role he successfully confronted the company’s marketing, financial, and shareholder challenges, and concluded his Bluholding experience in 2012 following the sale of the Group to MSC Cruises.
In May 2012, Michele Marin entered the world of global waterwear brand, Arena, as Chief Financial Officer, primed to follow the CEO and his Management Team in the implementation and strict monitoring of the Group’s business and financial strategy, which is critical to the achievement of the objectives defined by the majority shareholder (American private equity firm, The Riverside Company) in their 2010 acquisition.
